SHIFT- i+eo

Composed of IHA and ephemeral objects, i+eo is an audio-visual futurism based on the artists’ identities and experiences as queer Southeast Asian diaspora, intertwined with influences from the West Coast of Canada’s electronic and underground music scene. This project is born from the duo’s participation in MUTEK’s 2024 Incubator program, solidifying i+eo among Canada’s most promising a/v artists.

Join us at Open Space on Feb. 7th for the west coast premiere of i+eo’s live Portals set, followed by a talk with i+eo where they will discuss their collaborative process, sonic and visual world-building, and being professionals in the live a/v space.

 

This performance/ artist talk is part of Resonance Collective's new hybrid series of events - SHIFT -The series attempts to provide deeper context to the dancefloor and offer alternative modes of engagement with the club, nightlife and dance music culture. Each dance music event will be paired with a workshop or artist talk that gets to the crux of a force crucial to the success of the former, featuring an arrangement of DJs, VJs, community organizers, producers, and theorists from areas both local and global. Focusing on innovation, genre experimentation, scene-building, past, present, futures, and ways to think about what exactly it is we are doing here.
