On January 30, 2016 Open Space presents Imaginary Anthropologies featuring vocalist and composer Gabriel Dharmoo.
Imaginary Anthropologies is a solo vocal performance, which interacts with a video mockumentary. The featured ‘experts’ comment on invented vocal traditions demonstrated by Dharmoo. The music is inspired by various odd and/or isolated vocal expressions found across the world, but revisited through imaginary folklore and experimental extended voice techniques. Reversing the academic lecture conventions, the subject of analysis and scrutiny is physically present on stage, as opposed to the speakers
