Come join us for a weekend with composer and sound artist Adam Basanta as we explore his audio installation A Room Listening to Itself. On Friday December 4, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. we invite you to an opening reception and the first opportunity to experience A Room Listening to Itself.
On Saturday December 5, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. musicians are invited to attend a workshop and discussion about electroacoustic music through learning to perform his composition gently contained but expanding outwards, long and flat. That afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Basanta will present an artist talk about his process for creating A Room Listening to Itself as well as his approaches to creating successful sound installations. To finish off the weekend, on Sunday December 6, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. there will be a performance and presentation of Basanta’s electronic compositions which will include a performance of gently contained but expanding outwards, long and flat by the workshop participants.
