Inspired by the Guest House program of events, Todd A Davis presents Diamonds, a new light piece that interrogates surveillance culture, gestures of hospitality, and inhabiting shared spaces.
“This artwork, architectonic in nature; mathematical in design, becomes an extension of the space in which the lights exist or are placed for presentation.” — Todd A Davis.
Davis knows Open Space well from his experience as the Executive Director of Open Space from 1998–2004. This work will provide a glimpse into his artistic practice that has been influenced by artists such as Sol LeWitt and James Turell.
Diamonds will be exhibited during Spaceraiser, an exhibition being coordinated by the Ministry of Casual Living, with an opening reception on Friday, May 1, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. The exhibition will be on view 12:00–5:00 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday until Saturday, May 30, 2015.
