-
Composers Reading Session

Composers are encouraged to write short (under 5 minutes) sketches/pieces for traditional Japanese instruments: koto, sho, and shakuhachi. Sketches may be scored for solo instruments, duets, or for the entire trio. The main goal of this workshop is to familiarize composers with these rare instruments and reduce communication barriers across different musical languages. During the reading session, sketches/pieces will be workshopped and read. Participating composers will be provided with a recording of the reading.
