On Saturday, August 23, 2014, starting at 2:30 p.m., Open Space will host another edition of the Victoria Score Reading Club, featuring presentations by Christopher Butterfield (associate professor at UVic), Daniel Godlovitch (electronic music composer/producer), and George Tzanetakis (associate professor at UVic).
The Score Reading Club is an opportunity to come and listen to music you may have never heard before. Collectively, we listen to the music and discuss elements that fascinate us, puzzle us, and resonate with us in emotional ways. In each session, presenters offer a look to a musical work of their choice. The works are presented and then discussed, revealing new insight and understanding for the pieces. Join us and discover hidden gems or new perspectives through engaging discussion with fellow new music enthusiasts.
