Calling all artists, art enthusiasts, graphic designers, thinkers, craft fiends, woodworkers, doers, and makers.
Open Space is a multifaceted gem in the heart of Victoria s tourism district, hidden behind an all-too-inconspicuous facade and a daunting set of stairs. Once past the steps, visitors are greeted by high ceilings, brick-clad walls, weathered wood floors, and the potential of our multidisciplinary contemporary art space.
To help punctuate its location and encourage people to experience the potential of our multidisciplinary project and learning space, Open Space is working to develop a new sign for its front doorstep.
Where's Open Space? is one-part workshop and one-part show.
Whether you are a carver, painter, photographer, street artist, or graphic designer, Open Space invites you to participate in the Integrate Arts Festival by contributing to the next chapter of Open Space s development.
Staple materials will be provided for the workshop, including cardboard, paint, glue, fabrics, and other basic art supplies. However, the workshop is rooted in creativity, so we encourage you to bring any other materials that you think will be necessary to execute your artistic vision from wood, to carving tools, to fine brushes, spray paint, or stencils.
Participants may also contribute graphic/digital versions of their signs. These are to be printed on a minimum 11 X17 -sized paper and submitted in person at the workshop.
All contributors will have their work displayed from August 15 16 throughout the Integrate Arts Festival in Open Space s program space.
