From June 10 to 20, 2014, Montreal-based duo Yannick Desranleau & Chloe Lum (Séripop) will be instigating a series of site-responsive installations throughout the city of Victoria. Séripop’s interventions—sculpted from sheets of brightly coloured, screen-printed paper— unfold a disorienting collection of narratives, aesthetic references, and histories. Improvisation and experimentation structure their installations to temporarily effect statues, monuments, and sculptures engaging these sites in an ambiguous way, activating art in the public sphere.
The artists invite volunteer assistants and witnesses to participate in these site-specific interventions. For more information regarding date, time, and location, please contact the gallery.
