Description

"Public space [. . .] is space on the run. Public space is not space in the city but the city itself. Not nodes but circulation routes; not buildings and plazas but roads and bridges. Public space is leaving home."  Vito Acconci

On Saturday, April 12, 2014, join The Wayward School, AGGV educators, and Open Space as we leave our homes to wander the city streets.

We invite artists, musicians, performers, protestors, bureaucrats, fl neurs, couch surfers, beach bums, bikers, walkers, strollers, and everyone in between to participate in this freewheelin' appraisal of the city's public art, space, and life.

The tour will begin outside the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria at 3:00 p.m. and lead us to Garrick's Head Pub at 5:00 p.m. for a screening of a new multimedia work by Jackson 2Bears.

Critical beers and delicious discussion to follow!

The Pub(lic) Crawl is just one of the many exciting events leading up to Reclaim the Streets: A Symposium on Art and Public Space.
