On January 13, at 2:30 p.m., Open Space will present the third iteration of the Victoria Score Reading Club. A joint effort between Open Space and
the Canadian Music Centre BC Region, the Score Reading Club is a series featuring works by accomplished composers in all musical genres. In each session, three presenters offer in-depth looks at musical works of their choice.
The works are presented live or recorded, and discussed, revealing new insights into the works.
Be sure not to miss this month’s event in order to hear Dr. Patrick Boyle from the University of Victoria Jazz studies talk about Dark was the night, cold was the ground by Blind Willie Johnson. Composer Darren Miller will share Flux by Winnipeg composer Gordon Fitzell.
