- Description
- On Friday October 12, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. flutist Mark McGregor and percussionist Brian Nesselroad will present a concert cavalcade of contemporary west coast Canadian composers. Ranging from the sinful to the divine, this concert will include selections from McGregor’s Seven Deadly Sins concert as well as newer works composed specifically for the duo. Described as a musician of “huge physical energy,” flutist Mark McGregor has been lauded by the press as “mind-blowing” and “verging on the superhuman.” He is known for pushing the limits of the flute, performing pieces that mix the flutes natural tone with techniques that extend the sonic possibility of the instrument. He is well matched with Brian Nesselroad, a vituosic Vancouver based percussionist, whose repertoire ranges from contemporary music, to symphonic classics, to Southern rock.
