- Mei Han and Randy Raine-Reusch led this hands-on interactive workshop on creative improvisation, which drew participants from all ranges of experience and expertise. The duo began with a demonstration on the Chinese Zheng and discussed their approach to improvisation. The session drew on techniques that ranged from those by the AACM, Chicago Art Ensemble, Creative Workshop, Deep Listening and non-western world cultures. The workshop encouraged participants to listen deeply to their surroundings and to one another, to respond to their environment and to observe silence and space in their sound making.
