- A master sound manipulator, renowned Polish born, Tokyo-based sound artist Zbigniew Karkowski employs a variety of tools to process and rework original acoustic instrument recordings. Continuity demonstrates Karkowski’s relentless attention to detail in a re-interpretation of his rich body of sonic explorations built on superbly executed and processed field recordings. Zbigniew Karkowski and Atsuko Nojiri will perform at Open Space on Saturday February 28 at 8pm. Zbigniew Karkowski will conduct a workshop on Sunday March 1 at 11am at Open Space. Zbigniew Karkowski will discuss his earlier work and ideas about contemporary composition, and will demonstrate and describe the sonic materials and processes he uses in his current ‘noise’-based work.
