Description
Open Space presents an installations by Susan Mesick, an artists who has been selected as part of Open Space’s annual collaboration with the Camosun College Visual Arts Department.
Susan Mesick’s mixed media sculpture Veneer investigates the contested relationship between industry and nature. The work problematizes current logging practices in BC, where land is clear-cut leaving only a ribbon of trees along the roadside. She asks us to consider the practice of this aesthetic buffer. Opening Tuesday, April 24, 8pm.
Open Space programming has been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, the BC Arts Council, the CRD, the Government of British Columbia, and the commitment of the Open Space’s volunteers.
