- Stephanie Bolster reads from her first book, White Stone: The Alice Poems, published by Signal Editions in 1998. She won the Malahat Review's Long Poem Prize and CV2's Poetry contest in 1997 and the Bronwen Wallace Award in 1996. Her work also appeared in Breathing Fire: Canada's New Poets, as well the Poetry in Transit program which put poetry in and on the BC Transit system buses in Victoria and Vancouver. Barbara Nickel reads from her first book of poetry, The Gladys Elegies, published by Coteau Books in 1997. She won the Malahat Review Long Poem Contest and received an honourable mention at the 1996 National Magazine Awards.
